Widows Paradise
Widows Paradise, a farcical comedy set in the 1960s takes place in a caravan in Robert’s Cove with five ladies embarking on a strictly “women only” weekend. Leading the group is Ruby (Angela Twohig)- a strong forceful woman who has made the decision that “Never Again” is the way forward. She’s fervently supported by Vanessa (Ber Hayes) and Rachel (Angela Geary). However, her friend Lucy (Patricia O’Regan) has different ideas, while her daughter Sylvia (Pamela Kiely) is a young woman with a mind of her own.
The scene is thrown into disarray with the arrival of the no nonsense alpha-male Harry (Eamon O’Leary), his dim-witted side-kick Ernie (Colm Nestor) and Harry’s son Alan (Aaron Ganley). Add to the mix, surprise visitors in the form of Wilfred (Joe McCarthy) and farmer John (Pat Byrne) and there’s a basis for chaos.
