Live in concert - Jack O'Rourke
We are delighted to welcome Jack O'Rourke to the Inkwell Theatre stage once again!
Saturday 4th June at 8pm
Inkwell Theatre, Minane Bridge
Ticket: €20 plus booking fee
Support: Kira O’Brien & Carlos Paz
Jack has recently released a new album “Wild Place” which was recorded at the Triskel during Lockdown. The results have been described as lyrical and endearing, with songs of love and loss as a window into the lives of beautiful misfits, in nature and in wilderness. Many genres including folk, blues, Americana and Chamber Music combine to make a memorable experience, one that endures long after the concert is over. A good example is the moving tribute to John Prine, who died during the epidemic. Jack admits that Prine’s songwriting has always floored him - “He says so much without being flowery.” Ably supported by Clare Sands, Hugh Dillon, Aisling Fitzpatrick and Crash Ensemble, Jack O’Rourke displays a unique talent, and the intimate setting of the Inkwell Theatre allows it to flourish.
Supporting Jack O’Rourke on the night will be Kira O’Brien who will play with Carlos Paz. Carlos has won many plaudits in Cuba for his virtuoso guitar playing. Mixing Latin rhythms with soul, funk, and the blues, this is a rare opportunity to see live world music at its very best. Accompanying Carlos is the multi-talented Kira O’Brien (actress, artist and musician) who plays guitar, ukelele and five string Clawhammer banjo.
Tickets are also available in the XL Shop in Minane Bridge.
