Cork Operatic Society Celebrate Ten Years: 2009 - 2019

Cork Operatic Society celebrate a successful decade in it's history with a concert of operatic gems featuring The Chorus of Cork Operatic Society and a host of opera and musical-theatre stars including Majella Cullagh, Molly Lynch, Joe Corbett, Kelley Petcu, Michael Sands, Niamh O'Sullivan and Ryan Morgan with conductor Conor Palliser, guest conductor John O'Brien and pianist Tom Doyle. This star-studded line-up will present a delightful programme including Habanera from Bizet's Carmen, The Easter Hymn from Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana,The Jewel Song from Gounod's Faust,The Bell Chorus from Leoncavallo's Pagliacci and many more favourites.
Since it's revival in 2009, Cork Operatic Society has contributed to many successful opera, operetta and musical-theatre collaborations including the critically acclaimed Gounod's Faust, Leoncavallo's Pagliacci and Sondheim's Sweeney Todd with The Everyman Theatre as well as several concert performances with Cork Opera House such as Puccini's La Boheme, Verdi's La Traviata and Rigoletto, Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute and Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado.
This concert celebrates the society's place in Cork's opera-making tradition over the last ten years and marks the start of another chapter for this voluntary society dedicated to opera performance in Cork City.
