With her distinctive dark soulful voice Clare O’Riordan, Cork singer/songwriter and pianist will perform her new single ‘A World” and other tracks from her upcoming album ‘Outside’, her debut album ‘Shelter’ as well as a ‘unique take’ on some quintessential covers. On the night a guest musician will accompany Clare.

Fuelled by the story of her songs, Clare adopts an imaginative approach to her singing. In the recording studio she looked to capture the energy and passion of a live performance and created a new album best described as a ‘Genre Outlaw’.Her music is a mixture of piano based balladry and rock, light funk, and smooth jazz with a vocal “reminiscent of Joan Armatrading…” (Colm O Hare, Hot Press). Many of her tracks have received significant airplay in particular ‘Real Love’, ‘Angel’ and ‘Home’.

“Shelter is full of beautiful songs sung with that amazing voice of hers" (Fiachna Ó Braonáin, Late Date, RTE RADIO 1).

"Superbly crafted originals.... [Shelter] my 2014 Album of the Year" (Noel Casey, Dublin City FM).

“You [Clare] remind me of Joan Armatrading" (Pat Kenny, The Pat Kenny Show 2014, Newstalk 106-108 FM).

Bear Bojack is an alternative folk-soul band. Think Ray Lamontagne vocals with ambient Bon Iver arrangements alongside melodies and lyrics which both haunt and uplift in equal measure.

Songwriter/frontman Chris McDonald, originally from Nottingham, found himself in West Cork 3 years ago which he describes as the only place he has ever “truly felt at home as an artist and a human.” Describing making music in West Cork he says “something about the acceptance of the people, the peace and the beauty and integral respect for culture creates a rare melting pot of creativity which is profoundly unique.”

After the critical acclaim of the first album ‘There’s a Fire’ which led to film syncs on several major films such as the Host and Bella Vita Bear Bojack have been back in the studio working on the follow up album 'Hope Dies Last' and with top level supports such as James Vincent McMorrow, Brian Deady and David Kitt 2018 is looking like it will be an exciting and productive year.
